National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is one of the nation’s most prestigious student organizations, recognizing high school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership in NHS is an honor bestowed upon students who have shown a strong commitment to academic achievement while serving their school and community.
Students selected for NHS uphold high standards of integrity, responsibility, and citizenship. Members are expected to lead by example, participate in meaningful service projects, and contribute positively to the school environment. Through leadership development opportunities and community service initiatives, NHS members grow as scholars and responsible citizens.
The National Honor Society promotes a culture of excellence and encourages students to reach their full potential both academically and personally. Membership is not only a recognition of past accomplishments but also a commitment to continued growth, service, and leadership.
The purpose of the LHS Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote leadership, and develop character. Membership is open to eleventh and twelfth graders who have a minimum grade average of 90. Members must adhere to the code of conduct that has been established for this organization.
