Lanett High School's Career Technology courses give students the opportunity to learn how to effectively use technology in everyday real-life situations whether they be personal, academic, or professional. Students are afforded the use of various types of hardware to include pcs, digital cameras, video cameras, scanners, laptops, lcd projectors, and audio devices to name a few. Our classes teach students how to properly use software for creating microsoft word documents,  excel spreadsheets,  PowerPoint presentations, databases, and publications. Students learn to integrate software components. Additional softwares that allow for photo and video editing are used as well. The use of blogs, wikis, and other web based tools are encouraged.  Students are taught the importance of technology integration across the curriculum. They are encouraged to be creative.

Students have an opportunity to become certified in Microsoft Office through testing at the end of the Business Technology Essentials course. Students are taught the importance of using technology to express what is learned through their daily course work as it relates to core subject requirements and for career and college readiness.

An integrated part of the business Program is Future Business Leaders of America ( FBLA). Through this organization, students can learn and develop leadership skills with opportunities for career planning and development.
