I started my college career at Southern Union State Community College on the Opelika campus. After two years I transfered to Auburn University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I earned my master's degree in Elementary Education at Troy State University-Phenix City and my school librarian certification at Auburn University.

I taught fourth grade in Phenix City, Alabama for five and a half years. I left my job there to be the school librarian at W.O. Lance Elementary. I worked there for a year and a half, then moved to Lanett Junior High to be the librarian. Six years ago, we combined the junior high library with the high school library and I became the librarian for both schools.

This is my second year serving as the Lanala yearbook advisor.

I have three spoiled dogs. Murphy is an nine year old Boxer/Chow mix. He loves to chase tennis balls. Hazel is an eight year old Boxer/English Setter mix. She loves to chase bees. Our newest family member is Rupert, a four year old Pittie mix. He loves to give hugs. All of them were rescued from a shelter. #adoptdontshop

My mom and my stepfather live in Valley. My mom works for Auburn University. War Eagle! I have one sister; she is six years younger than me. She is also a librarian! She lives in St. Petersburg, Florida with her dog, Henry. She is only a few minutes from the beach!
